7-Day Break
Dec 29 – Travel from our local joining point to our overnight hotel in Belgium.
Dec 30 – South through Germany and into Austria to our hotel in Steinach for four nights. B,D
New Year’s Eve – Merano (optional). Join an excursion over the border into Italy to the town of Merano, situated in the valley formed by the Passirio River in the area known as the South Tirol and surrounded by snowy peaks rising to 10000 feet. See the well-preserved Castle, dating from the 15th century, the medieval cathedral, or why not explore the traditional Christmas market? Return to our hotel for the New Years Eve celebrations with Gala dinner and dancing and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine at midnight.B,D
New Year’s Day – Vipiteno (included). Happy New Year! A leisurely start this morning, then in the afternoon we take the short journey over the Brenner Pass to the border town of Vipiteno to see the quaint Christmas market in the Piazza Citta. B,D
Jan 2 – Innsbruck (included) & Innsbruck Sightseeing (optional). We travel to the grand city of Innsbruck, the Capital of the Tyrol. Explore the old town area and see the famous Golden Roof, the Hofburg Palace, St James Cathedral and the Maria Theresien Strasse. Why not join our sightseeing tour (optional) with local English speaking guide which will show us the main sights, as well, the Olympic Ice Stadium, the Berg Isel ski jump and the beautiful Wilten Basilica. B,D
Jan 3 – Leave after breakfast and travel north to Belgium for an overnight stay.B
Jan 4 – Return home to the UK.B
